As we embark on another year filled with creativity and inspiration, we wanted to take a moment to share some truly special updates and milestones from Mash.T Design Studio.
We are thrilled to share that the year has gotten off to an incredible start, with Mash.T Design Studio showcasing at Cape Town Furniture Week. This event, in collaboration with Clout/SA and its design partners, transformed the Sisonke Gallery into a staged hotel room, inviting the public to explore our South African heritage reimagined.
One of the highlights of Cape Town Furniture Week was the unveiling of our latest creation – a stunning light fixture made from ilala palm. Inspired by the bird’s nests, this fixture serves as a beautiful reminder of the natural beauty that surrounds us, even amid city life.
Incredibly, Mash.T Design Studio has been included in the prestigious 2024 book, “Designed For Life.” This book showcases 100 of the most exciting designers from around the world, shining a spotlight on the forefront of contemporary product design. We are honoured to be recognized among such esteemed company.
Central to our success are the collaborations with master weavers such as Beauty Ngxongo, the talented beaders at Qaqambile Bead Studio, and award-winning furniture makers like Houtlander. Together, we have brought to life world-class products that celebrate African craftsmanship and innovation.
